Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk to students from my High School about my career paths and answer their questions about digital media, visual effects, design, and creative writing. It’s hard to believe that my graduation was almost 20 years ago!
One of my goals was to help students see that everything I’ve achieved is possible for them too. I had average grades, didn’t excel at sports, and it’s hard to find more than 1 picture of me in the yearbook. After the presentation, a teacher told me he overheard a student say, “That was cool; I’d like to do that.” Mission accomplished!
Thank you to the staff and all my former teachers. I’m glad to be teaching again too.
