ACE Guest Speaker: Jaimie Park

ACE Guest Speaker: Jaimie Park

We had another inspiring ACE Guest! Our students were able to meet Freelance Compositor Jaimie Park, whose visual effects (VFX) journey has taken her from California to Vancouver, Chicago, Montreal, and presently New York. Jaimie has worked on a wide range of projects spanning movies, episodic work, and commercials. Her credits include: Wonka, 1899, The Crowded Room, The Gilded Age, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Jaimie forged her own path: developing her skills, seeking new experiences, and later moving to New York, motivated by her passion for musicals. I admire her courage and dedication. She provided advice and encouragement for our students to find what drives them and chase after that. Working for multiple VFX studios introduced her to different pipelines, compositing approaches, reviewing styles, and people. This helped her discover the type of Compositing work she enjoys most and build lasting friendships. Echoing the gratitude she expressed towards the people who supported her learning, we are thankful for the time, tales, and tips that Jaimie shared with us.

Here is a short clip from our conversation.
